With the huge success of the WiSA mentoring programme last year, the initiative is launching again for 2021!
The scheme – to be delivered in partnership with Skillfluence – will match some of the most influential leaders, both male and female in aquaculture with aspiring women in the industry looking to develop their careers and skills.
Through one-to-one sessions, the mentoring programme will provide training and support for both mentees and mentors. Participants in the programme will meet over several months to build up skills such as creating a network, making career decisions, cultivating leadership styles, and building confidence.
We are looking for senior aquaculture professionals eager to make a difference, as well as younger women with a commitment to aquaculture who are looking to enhance their careers.
Why be a mentor?
We are looking for women and men in senior positions from across the industry who want to make a difference by taking part in the programme, helping us encourage and nurture aquaculture’s next generation of female leaders. Being a mentor can be an incredibly rewarding experience, contributing to professional development and shaping the industry’s future.
Why be a mentee?
As a mentee on the WiSA programme, your potential will be matched with the skills and experience of a supportive person who is more established in the sector. Your interaction with your mentor can help build your capacity, confidence and capability, with all the benefits this can bring both personally and professionally.
