WiSA Awards 2024

The WiSA Awards nominations are now closed. An independent panel is now deliberating, and the winners will be announced on International Women's Day on 8 March 2024. 

The categories for nomination are:

  • Rising star: The rising star award celebrates the exceptional achievements and promising potential of women who are making significant strides in the dynamic and innovative field of aquaculture within Scotland. This award aims to recognise individuals who have demonstrated outstanding dedication, leadership, and innovation in their early to mid-career stages, contributing to the growth and sustainability of the Scottish aquaculture industry.
  • Role model of the year: The role model of the year award acknowledges an exemplary woman whose unwavering commitment, leadership, and positive influence have set a benchmark for excellence within the Scottish aquaculture industry. This award is designed to honour an individual who serves as an inspiration to her peers, fostering inclusivity, and demonstrating the values of integrity, professionalism, and resilience. 
  • Ally of the year: The ally of the year award acknowledges the contributions made by colleagues who actively champion and support the professional development and empowerment of women within the aquaculture industry. This award is designed to recognise an ally who goes above and beyond to create an inclusive, diverse, and supportive environment, fostering the growth and success of women in Scottish aquaculture. 
  • Academic champion of the year: The academic champion of the year award recognises an individual who has demonstrated exceptional commitment and contributions in the field of aquaculture academia. This award aims to pay tribute to an academic champion who has significantly impacted the educational landscape, fostering an environment of learning, research, and innovation.
  • Outstanding contribution: The outstanding contribution award honours an extraordinary woman who has made a profound and lasting impact on the Scottish aquaculture industry through her exemplary contributions, leadership, and dedication.
